YMCA Bath Group is a large charitable organisation based in the centre of the historic city of Bath but operating across, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Bristol and Wiltshire carrying out a variety of different work.
Like all YMCA’s in England, Bath is an autonomous charity that affiliates to YMCA England. This means that all YMCAs are independent and whilst many carry out similar types of work, every YMCA is different, with its own board of management made up of representatives from the local communities in which it works.
Therefore whilst the YMCA is an international organisation, it is also local and YMCA Bath works with local people, local businesses, local authorities and other local social enterprises to provide and respond to changing and developing needs. By supporting YMCA Bath you are supporting our work locally and internationally. As a not for profit charitable organisation, any surpluses are fed back into our work.
YMCA’s are symbolised by a triangle, representing our mission to look at the individual holistically and develop them in body, mind and spirit. The good news is that you don’t have to be Young, Male or Christian to enjoy and benefit from being part of your local YMCA – we’re here for everyone!
This site gives you a great insight into some of the work we do. We are constantly evolving and developing work in new and exciting areas – a big project for us at the moment is in Bristol and we are actively fundraising to turn an old but beautiful building into a thriving centre with accommodation for young people.
