Classes are a great way to get fit and continue to develop your fitness levels. Classes range from toning and relaxation through to strength training and high energy cardio workouts. By combining a mix of classes into your fitness programme, you will ensure an all over workout and maximum benefits.

A lot of our members find classes the perfect route to fitness as they know that for the next 45 or 60 minutes an instructor is going to take them through the workout and motivate them right to the end of the class.

Class descriptions

Body Blitz – Improves tone and definition of all major muscle groups. Hand weights and a step may be used.

Body Pump – This is the ultimate weight training experience and is a great way to shape up and lose body fat.

Boxercise - Had hard day at work? Need to let off some steam? Then this class is for you!! Boxercise is a motivating class which ultimately works on boxing techniques for fitness and muscle tone.

Boxing Circuits – A total body workout with stations based around boxing

Circuits – let your instructor motivate you with this brilliant all round station based workout which incorporates aerobic and muscular strength. Suitable for all levels of fitness as you can work at your own level.

Fitness Yoga – This class will enhance flexibility, strength, posture and help relieve stress.

Kettle bell - For the ultimate all over body workout that will help define and sculpt the body

Pilates – This functional class works on core stability and will ultimately improve posture.

Pilates on ball – In this popular Pilates class, the fitball is used to further challenge balance, coordination and core strength.

Running Club – Improve your fitness whether just for fun or for an event. This club is only run at certain times of the year.

Spin Class – A fab workout on a static bike, with little coordination required.

Stretch and Tone - This class will help work on functional and core strength, mobility and stretch

Supple Strength – A mixture of the best of Yoga and Pilates. This class is perfect to help you relax at the end of the day.

Tae Kwon Do – An intense martial arts class focusing on punching and kicking technique.

Zumba - Exhilarating, easy to follow Latin inspired dance and fitness workout.

Children’s Dance Parties – We have kids dance and games parties all wrapped up! Available on request - for more information contact the gym team.

Hen Parties – Try something new and have fun with the girls from belly dancing, pole fitness, zumba and street dance. Available on request – contact the gym team for more information

Our class guarantee

at the YMCA we make every effort that out programme is as stated on our timetable and website. From time to time however, there may be alterations due to holidays and sickness. In the event of you turning up and no class taking place, a complimentary voucher will be given or refund if you have already paid.
