Support Us

YMCA Bath Group is committed to working and supporting communities, especially young people in times of need. The YMCA is the largest and oldest youth charity in the world and our vision is of an inclusive Christian organisation, transforming communities so that all young people truly belong, contribute and thrive.

At YMCA Bath Group we work with young people in a variety of ways such as youth projects in Bath and Bristol; a training kitchen; some supported accommodation; supporting young parents; through health and wellbeing programmes; safe and affordable out of school clubs and for the much younger – childcare in our 5 nurseries.

Where does our money come from?

YMCA Bath Group is fortunate in that all our central costs are covered by our trading company, therefore any donations go directly to supporting our charitable work with young people. Any surplus funds from our trading company also go towards our charitable work and reinvesting in our work.

We are proud not to rely on any government funding and work hard to deliver quality services that we can sell at competitive rates, such as our childcare and health & fitness – whilst also benefitting our charitable work. Therefore our users also have the satisfaction that not only are they receiving fantastic facilities and services, but their membership or fees are helping support our work with more vulnerable young people.

However, we also need to raise funds – some of this is done through grants, our charity shop in Timsbury, fundraising activities and the rest from donations.
